It's been almost 3 months since we last had any youth sports here in Central Texas. And now we can happily say that tomorrow, June 15, 2020, many of our local leagues are starting baseball and softball season.
Why does that matter? That's a Long time to be without our national pastime. In fact, we are living through the longest (baseball) outage in history (currently days during the 1994-95 strike wins). From college, all the way down to high school and little league - baseball and softball - have not been played anywhere. Think of the millions of children who play youth baseball and softball, and the memories MANY WILL not get the chance to make this summer. Think of the parents, the coaches, the volunteers.
Oh those volunteers!!!! Leagues are run by those faithful volunteers who have been watching the weekly updates from our Governor plus Park & Rec rules in the hopes of making a summer league.
Many leagues didn't make it. And most lost good players and coaches. So if your league survived the wait, you are blessed and should thank your volunteers for keeping the hope alive.
SHUTTER MAGIC has also been waiting to see all your smiling faces and is ready to HELP YOU SAVE THOSE MEMORIES. This sports drought has taught us one thing - memories need to be preserved. Good memories - fun memories - a place in time memories.
